At SARAH SENECA Residential Services, Inc., we are committed to providing exceptional and personalized residential support services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Clinton, Guilford, Madison, Branford, and Northford. We believe in empowering these individuals to live fulfilling lives, and our process reflects that mission.

Step 1

Connecting with DDS Case Manager
The journey begins with the parent or guardian engaging in a conversation with their Department of Developmental Services (DDS) case manager. This is an essential step as it allows for placement into a residential program.

Step 2

Referral Requests
Once the necessary discussions have occurred, we receive direct referral requests from DDS. These referrals provide us with valuable information on individuals who are seeking a new place to call home.

Step 3

Matching Needs with Vacancies
Upon receiving a referral, we arrange meetings with both the guardians and the individuals. The aim is to determine if our current vacancies align with their needs. We strive to create an environment that feels like home and caters to their individual needs.

Step 4

Planning and Support Team Meetings
When a match is found, the next phase involves setting up a meeting with the individual's Planning and Support Team. These meetings are crucial to ensure that we fully understand the individual's programming and staffing needs.

Step 5

Establishing Community, Medical, and Behavioral Supports
During the Planning and Support Team meetings, we also set up any required community support. We understand that every individual may have unique medical or behavioral needs, and we ensure these are addressed and supported accordingly.

Step 6

Scheduling the Move-In Date

The final step in our process is scheduling a move-in date. This marks the beginning of a new chapter in the individual's life, where they can experience independence and personal growth in a supportive and nurturing environment.

Community Living Arrangements (CLA)

Community Living Arrangements (CLA) provides a warm, comfortable, and supportive environment for individuals who need round-the-clock care. These group home settings enable residents to live happily within the community while receiving the assistance they need in all aspects of daily living.

What CLA Offers:

  • 24/7 Supervision
  • Daily Living Support
  • Medical Oversight
  • Affordable Living

How It Works:

  1. Room and board rates are determined by the Department of Social Services.
  2. Individuals pay these rates using their Social Security entitlements.
  3. If entitlements fall short, a supplemental check may be provided by DDS.

*All referrals for our programs come from the Department of Developmental Services.
